Non-physicians performing laser treatments must operate under the direct supervision of a Mississippi licensed medical doctor. Direct supervision requires the physician be on premises during the procedure and available for involvement if needed.
There is no formal education requirement set by the state for non-physicians to perform laser treatments. Most physicians however will require some sort of training or education to ensure proper understanding of laser safety and operation.
